Vassar music department spring concert series offers twenty-four faculty, visiting artist, and student recital and ensemble performances, February 9-May 25, 2013

Members of the Vassar music faculty along with Vassar student soloists and ensembles, and such renowned guest artists as the Shanghai Quartet, Venti wind ensemble, Four Nations vocal ensemble, and organist James David Christie, will perform in the free concert series at the Skinner Hall of Music from February 9-May 25


Eleventh annual Vassar College Modfest to celebrate the performing, visual, and literary arts of the 20th and 21st centuries on the Vassar campus, January 24 – February 8, 2013

Modfest, now in its eleventh year, is Vassar College's exploration of the arts in the 20th and 21st centuries. Dance, drama, visual art, film, literature, poetry, and music will be celebrated in a series of events taking place across campus from January 24 to February 8. Participants in Modfest 2013 include Vassar students, faculty, alumnae/i, and guest artists, as well as students from the Poughkeepsie area schools.


Vassar College presents the annual “Service of Lessons and Carols” on Sunday, December 4, 2011.

The annual “Service of Lessons and Carols,” a Christmas service of readings, choral anthems, and congregational carols, that culminates in a candle lighting ceremony, will be held at Vassar College in the Vassar Chapel on Sunday, December 4. This popular event, free and open to the public, will begin at 7:00pm. A free will offering will be taken to support Dutchess Outreach of Poughkeepsie, via the college's "Community Works" campaign. The doors will open at 6:30pm, with seating on a first-come, first-served basis.


In celebration of its 150th anniversary, Vassar College invites the Hudson Valley Community to enjoy "A Day at Vassar," October 15, 2011.

Vassar College, on the occasion of its 150th anniversary, welcomes all members of the Hudson Valley community to spend “A Day at Vassar” on Saturday, October 15. This day-long series of free events will feature a selection of lectures taught by members of the world-renowned Vassar faculty, entertainment, special tours, exhibitions, and more.
