Annual “Service of Lessons and Carols” featuring a 140-member choir and world premiere to be held at the Vassar Chapel on Sunday, December 8, 2013

This annual program of Christmas readings, choral anthems, and congregational carols will be held at the Vassar Chapel on Sunday, December 8, beginning at 7:00pm. A special 140-singer choir will perform works by Anton Bruckner, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Benjamin Britten, and James Bassi. as well as the premiere of a commissioned work with bassoon, oboe, and piano.


Music department’s free fall concert series includes 24 faculty, visiting artist, and student recital and ensemble performances, September 2-December 8, 2013

Members of the Vassar College music faculty along with Vassar student soloists and ensembles, and such renowned guest artists as the vocal groups Roomful of Teeth and Stile Antico, the chamber music groups The Declassified and the New York Chamber Brass, and the Westchester Jazz Orchestra, will perform in the annual free concert series at Skinner Hall of Music from September 2 through December 8.
