Drew Minter, countertenor and gut-strung harp, and James Ruff, tenor and Early Gaelic wire-strung harp. The Sweet Sorrow: Musicke for harps and voices heralding from the Celtic Isles.
25 Sun. 3:00pm Faculty Recital
Blanca Uribe, professor emerita, and Richard Wilson, pianos, present the music of Stravinsky featuring the Sonata for Two Pianos, Concerto for Two Pianos, and Petrushka.
30 Fri. 8:00pm Faculty and Guest Recital
Arnaud Sussmann and Lily Francis, violins, Roger Tapping, viola, and faculty member Sophie Shao, cello. An evening of Mozart string quartets including String Quartet No. 18 in A major, K. 464.


1 Sat. 8:00pm Guest Jazz Event

An evening of jazz with Kurt Elling. Jazz vocalist Kurt Elling, a 2010 Grammy Award winner and “Male Singer of the Year”, as voted by the Jazz Journalists Association six times since 2000, will be joined by his creative collaborator of fifteen years, Laurence Hobgood, piano, and also John McLean, guitar, Clark Sommers, bass, and Ulysses Owens Jr., drums.  Join us for a memorable evening of great jazz, pop, progressive rock and R & B.

The Antioch Chamber Ensemble.  Joshua Copeland, artistic director. “the city and the sea.”  In its fourteenth season, the ensemble of twelve singers presents the world’s greatest choral literature, both sacred and secular.

Gail Archer, organ.  “Franz Liszt:  A Hungarian Rhapsodie.”  A recital celebrating the 200th anniversary of the composer’s birth.

Christopher Connors, jazz guitar.  A selected history of the 20th century jazz guitar including music of Charlie Christian, Wes Montgomery, John Scofield, and Pat Metheny.  Luke Leavitt ’12, piano, Evan Becker ’13, bass, and Ben Roberts ’12, drums.

“Something about Mary.”  Marian music through the ages by Alfonso the Wise, Guillaume Dufay, Palestrina, Brahms, Verdi, and Rebecca Clarke.  Benjamin Britten’s Missa Brevis, featuring Darren Motise, organ.

Courtenay Budd, soprano, Audrey Babcock, mezzo-soprano, and faculty member Miriam Charney, piano. "In Endless Assent: Vassar Poets in Song." Song settings of poetry by Elizabeth Bishop, Edna St. Vincent Millay, and Adelaide Crapsey set by composers Lee Hoiby, Richard Wilson, John Harbison, Ned Roren, David del Tredici, and others.

Faculty member Anna Polonsky and Orion Weiss, pianos.  Featuring Schubert’s Variations on an Original Theme in A flat major D.813,
Dutilleux’s Figures de Resonances, Ravel’s Rhapsodie Espagnole, and Ravel’s La Valse.
